Assistantships

As you consider furthering your dance education at The University of Alabama, you may be excited to hear that select graduate candidates are funded with teaching assistantships that pay for tuition and course fees, health insurance, and provide a stipend. In return, graduate students invest in and contribute to the richness of our program by assisting faculty in our BA Dance curriculum, teaching non-major and some major courses in a variety of genres, or other duties as needed by the program. Through their TA assignments, faculty mentorship, coursework, and creative and performance opportunities, our graduate students benefit from valuable resources and experiences while in our program, better preparing them for a diverse job market.

For more information about graduate assistantships, please contact the Director of MFA in Dance program, Sarah M. Barry at smbarry@ua.edu
